1. The US and Canada have worked together to increase oil production in areas like Alberta and North Dakota
2. Demand for oil fell, particularly in China, compared to supply which had been large part of driving costs up
3. OPEC refused to reduce production to keep prices up as did not wish to lose market share
How did the US engineer this anymore than Canada, Russia, China, Iraq, Venezuela or Saudi Arabia did?
