I live in Canada and an extra $5-15 isn't really that bad (I only buy about 2 games a year) considering how much the developers budget has increased. The higher the prices go worldwide though could possibly lead to a videogame crash. Money is built to decrease in value, everythings going to be more expensive as the generations go on. We as gamers are very lucky that prices stayed at $60 for so long. This is also a good reason why companies try to hit our wallets with DLC.
