RAD themselves have already said they make a mistake in communicating what The Order was prior to release, so there's a mistake right there. Of course, other mistakes:
- Writing a poor story
- Bad game design
I don't get this idea going on now on various forums about how The Order is being punished for being "different" or "trying something new" or being "too cinematic". Didn't Walking Dead win GOTY awards like 2-3 years ago? Didn't LoU win them in 2013? Journey?
The Order fails in execution and design. And most importantly, price. Personally I am glad it bombed critically, my faith in reviewers has been slightly restored. When a developer puts graphics and cinematic experience above gameplay in a video game, I don't want to see them rewarded for that. I am sure the game will sell pretty well though, it was massively hyped, and is on the most popular console.
