Nah, gotta say. This looks like one of those games that kills the studio. Saw it a couple times last gen with lackluster PS3 games. RIP Ready at Dawn

Yeah, that's a real possibility that I mentioned in another thread without expanding on it.

With those kinds of production values, 1m in sales simply doesn't cut it. Even if all those copies were sold at full price, that's probably not even going to be a break-even result. For a sequel to get greenlit, 2m minimum is absolutely required, with the majority of those copies sold at full price. If The Order 1886 struggles in retail, Sony won't have much of a reason to give Ready at Dawn another project; and other publishers won't knock on the door of a developer that just finished a commercial failure.

Its going to sell at least 1 million at full price so 60 mil gross, lets say the studio sees 50% of that so 30 mil. How much do we really think it took to make this game? I mean ya your saying its productions values are high but in every other post you say it has no content. So maybe the budget was not that massive they just put all their eggs into the presentation basket. I would be willing to bet the break even point is somewhere between 800k-1.2 mil full priced game sales. I agree for them to consider it a success (to turn a tidy profit) is 2 million is the magic number (and for a sequel). Something like 400k sales would be studio closure time (like Haze).
