While we will be doing a Metatheory Podcast soon to talk about game length, I’ll state plainly that it took me about nine hours to finish The Order: 1886. I didn’t rush, but I also didn’t waste any time, playing it on Medium difficulty. You can expect roughly the same amount of gameplay. That said, as my friend David Roberts said recently “it goes on as long as it needs to.” It doesn’t overstay its welcome, and none of the content feels superfluous. When every moment of a game feels meaningful, nine hours is the perfect length for an adventure / shooter game.''
