That is why its called a cult classic.

And it has been talked about before.  A game ahead of its time and barely supported the first time.  Let me put it this way.

Phantom Dust is a owned Microsoft IP developed exclusively for Japan for the OG XBOX by Futatsugi.  It was later ported to America by Majesco (Not Microsoft) in extremely low quantity. Hence why it is so rare and most people know little about it.

Fast forward to 2014 Phil Spencer, Kenn Lobb, Ishmael, and others decided to reboot it with actual support because it was an amazing game the first time around, but ahead of its time, and barely supported.

By giving it support it will eclipse the original easily.  In fact, with Kenn Lobb behind the project, and I assume will be pushed with a astrong digital front, i wouldnt doubt if it can be very successful.  Killer Instinct has had millions of people download it, and if there is a similar payment method with Phantom Dust, id also imagine millions behind it.

While i gave my opinion there at the end, the rest is true so at least now you will know a little bit about what youre talking about.

Oh, of course, you are correct there. If it is a budget digital game, surely it can have a bigger audience than 100K.

I just figured that a card based JRPG is not something mainstream western audience really cares about. It can certainly find a niche following at an about $40 price (akin to Vita games). I just still don't know if a modern American XBox audience is the right target market for it.
