Especially since the indie game was super edgy as fuck that you could cut yourself with it's teenage edginess.
It's not really him being evil but more of a deranged psychopath with massive mental issues and religious tones thrown in, he's no Sauron.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
