DLC can be a great thing. It can give those players looking for more content another reason to keep playing, and some forms of DLC use the same mechanics in more imaginative ways than the main game.

The problems arise with day-one DLC for me. Of course no-one is forcing anyone to buy that content, but you always have to wonder if it was originally intended for the main release. Evolve has received a reasonably significant backlash to it's consumer practices, and I am glad to see that. DLC is only a positive for the industry when it is fair to consumers, and it is imperative that people speak up against publishers when that is not the case.


Indeed. I understand. My whole issue regarding this isn't that DLC is bad, but can companies keep up with its rapid evolution; all the while finding a way to appease the gamers tastes and interests within the game they are enjoying.
