germany is a free land! we can take peanutbutter crab sandwiches to school every day in the week...

In Croatia, children are forbidden to bring any nut based food when celebrating birthdays. As well as no home-made cakes or cookies.

Only factory packaged goods.

And of course that every teacher/caretaker has a list of allergies, so that they can react accordingly in some other extreme cases (allergies to fish or shellfish, milk, fabrics etc...)

It is a small sacrifice to the completely healthy ones, so nobody sane would ever complain about it.

Indeed, my desire to have some kind of nut, has never been high enough to think it's worth someones life over.  If I really want it that bad, I can have it when I get home.  Or, at least outside of a high-risk area such as schools, or a pediatric facility.
