Price is a major factor, would the Wii be sold at the same price as a PS3 I think PS3 sales would win hands down.
I can only speak for myself, I owned a N64 just for Mario64 and I actually prefer cartidges if they would actually allow for enough storage. Having said that I was really dissapointed that IMO none of the newer N64 games ever matched Mario64 in quality and the same goes for the GameCube, I skipped last gen entirely, I only recently started to buy PS2 games for my PS3, today I bought Ape Escape 3 as my girlfriend has nearly completed Ape Escape 2 . I also thought the "lunchbox" GameCube console was rather ugly and unhandy for putting in discs. The PS3's slotdrive located in the front much better suits my media cabinet.
With regard to MGS 3 and the usefulness of rumble in that game, I have never played that game. I know it's a major title, but it's not on my top 10 PS3 wishlist, neither are the upcoming Final Fantasy games. I am mostly looking forward to Lair, Killzone and Rachtet and Clank. Other than for Killzone I don't see much use for rumble and if overused for anything other than gun vibration I would likely find this feature to be irritating.
