New games, new ideas and new experiences. It has almost entirely been the same tired games, but part of it is because when something new does coome out I goes mostly over looked. Loads of amazing new experiences last gen, but so far not as much, only a little bit on the much hated or overlooked Wii U or indie scene. Even there, there seems to be less that is new. Nintendo Land has some great experiences and could cash in on more if they made some DLC for it, make it a great group/party game instead of it only being okay. ZombiU tried something fairly new but again was mostly over looked and had harsh reviews much due to its tough nature and admittedly dated graphics. Wonderful 101 took an new and interesting approach to an action game, but much over looked... those are the best examples I can think of right now. Ryse might be considered in this as well with the slight kinect experience offered, but was a bit flawed since it didn't get speach recognition all that great and didn't utilize much of kinect beyond that.
There was a multitude of new and interesting experiences last gen, but even then many were over looked so the ones that did make it are now unfortunately just more of the same LBP3 for instance.
The only selling feature so far this gen is a slightly superior graphic experience, but there hasn't been too much as far as anything trying to break the mould. Evolve maybe, but it took a terrible turn towards horrid DLC practices...

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
