Having a kid in that range ... I want to say no. Truthfully for most kids every year in that range brings a very different level of maturity depending on the kid of course.  I'd say no younger than 14 (just don't tell my son I said that - I hope he doesn't get on here and if he does dear lord don't let him have figured out how to read spoiler text)
