Everyone knows full well a digital download itself contains DRM. That wasn't even close to the issue people had with the XBox One when it was revealed, although i'm sure you know this.

Though I seriously doubt the suggestion that lead to T_f's comment. I don't see digital sales being so different as to cause that big of an effect on physical sales. Would be interesting to get a break down from a few 3rd parties regarding digital market share between PS4 and Xb one. I doub't we'll ever get it. I doubt we'll ever get overall console digital sales, as all the info I've seen so far incorporates PC, and doesn't give a game by game split. And often times the "digital" sales data includes subscriptions and DLC so you can;t even get an accurate physical/digital spilt at a macro level.
