for comparison.. Skyrim world is 16 square miles size, The withcher 3 is 20% bigger than skyrim so it is 20.9 square miles... and Xenoblade Chronicles X with all the mechs, art, and graphics and it look awesome whatever you say... is 400 Square kilometers convert that to square miles and this is the actual size of the world of xenoblade X... 154.44 square miles, did you see in art direction and world size TW3 and Xenoblade are not on the same league, and that is just the first point that came to my mind when i read the part i bold from your post ;)
