I don't like the idea, mainly because Mortal Kombat is a joke. It's a funny joke with fatalities and an unfunny one without them. Ever since the dawn of time, Mortal Kombat has held on by a thread at being relevant because of fatalities and the many incarnations of -alities they've come out with.
I'll keep my mind open to the possibility that this could be good, but I hope that better developers are creating this, and the fighting engine is completely reworked, because the current MK formula doesn't cut it anymore, fatalities or not. Personally I'd be more excited for a DC only fighting game as I don't see MK being a selling point anymore. Still, it's hard to not get excited when the possibilities of a roster on the DC side are endless:
Batman, Superman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Hitman, and for christ sakes they'ed better have Lobo in this game.
