I'm sorry I must be a pussy but I didn't enjoy the difficulty at all. I dialed back to normal after the 3rd chapter or so.

The problem is not that wouldn't be able to beat it, but I just had to play too careful, which is not really how I enjoy this game best. On normal I'm liking it much more so far.

Maybe I'll do a 2nd playthrough on extreme, but for the 1st one it would have ruined the experience a little bit. (It's of course my personal taste tho)

No you're not a puss, there's no point in ruining your gaming experience if the stealthy, more careful gameplay is not the style you like to play. There are some games where I prefer to be able to go in guns blazing and others where I like being able to go more stealthlyl. I generally like action more than stealth. Wolfenstein on the hardest difficult definitely required a stealthier approach at times and being forced to hide & get around some enemies to target their weak spot. One reason I may have had an easier time is I grinded out a lot of perks very early on by restarting checkpoints.

For me some of my most enjoyable experiences in games come from conquering the most challenging sections in a game  and it forces me to use more strategy so I usually like to start on the highest difficulty when given the choice. There are a few games like Spec Ops & COD: WAW though where the hardest difficulty just felt cheap and took away from the fun. Did you ever try either of those games on veteran?

I think I still compare a lot of games highest level difficulty to COD: World at War on veteran. That game was beyond frustrating and gave me a ton of stress by spending hours and hours on a single checkpoint only to get near the end of a checkpoint (with infinitely spawning enemies), pop your head out of cover and either get instantly killed or have grenades spawn at your feet. I nearly broke my controller playing that game! lol. When I think back to World at War I'd say Wolfenstein was a breeze compared to that.

Well, I actually enjoy being stealthy in games that are primary meant to be stealthy. Like Dishonored, that was much more fun on the stealth playthrough than on the action oriented one.

Others like Metro or Wolfenstein I enjoy the stealth but if I get caught I don't like dying or having to retry to do the entire section stealthy, I'd rather go guns blazing then.

In Wolfenstein I try to be stealthy at least till I kill one general to reveal the collectibles and then if I get spotted I can still kill all the guys. On extreme I ended up dying a lot after the alarm was raised. I am pretty competent at shooters I guess, but not really very good. That might also be a reason why it's more fun to me if it's not all too challenging.

I played through Spec Ops on hard (not the hardest) and even then it had 2-3 pretty frustrating spots for me and I decided to not even try the hardest...Would've been nothing but a chore for me to be honest. The other one I haven't played.

Actually beating Uncharted 2 and 3 on crushing might be my proudest achievement in the shooting genre
