How different is third-party support on Nontendo platforms

How does a gamer not want to try as many interesting games as possible, purely because of the 1st / 3rd party distinction? I'm all about most Sony exclusives, but last year multiplats ruled the roost. If you do get PS4 or XB1, please at least try some of the higher rated indie digital games.
