Like it or not, they have replaced their 0-10 ranking with their own 0-3 ranking (and if I had to guess, Avoid is 0-5, Nothing is 6-7, Recommend is 8-9, Essential is 10).

They will still get criticisms over which badge was given to which game, but I guess you will get less "why did this game get an 8 while this other game got a 9", since they will both now get a "Recommend".

Which is a good thing. An 8 or 9 game sounds like, "recommended", to me, while a 3 or 4 sounds like, "avoid". Difference is, you have to read the review, to a higher degree, to understand why they said avoid it, rather than simply looking at a "6" and calling the game, "bad."

I feel like it will have the opposite effect.  Before you may have read the review to see why it was an 8 (and not a 9), but now people will ignore anything without a badge, because it could be a 6 or below.
