I did it legit on the highest difficulty on my 1st playthrough and it was really enjoyable. Thought the difficulty was fun and challenging at times without being too frustrating. Checkpoints were very resonable. The final boss took about 6 tries once I learned his attacks. Actually had a harder time at one part in the game where two humans in mechs and a bunch of foot soldiers attack you after you release a lever to escape on a train. Another area where I struggled some was in a small room with two floors and I kept getting killed by two enemies who shoots bullets that richocet offs walls. Taking cover was ineffective against them, I'd always save some grenades for those guys to take them out fast.
