| BraveNewWorld said: Nintendo only has themselves to blame. Activision knows knows how to make and market games to the western audience. Nintendo refuses to bring Pokemon to home consoles. Nintendo refuses to make a true successor to SM64. Nintendo refuses to give Zelda voice acting and keep a more realistic look. Many, including myself, love Nintendo's franchises, but Nintendo doesn't see the difference between selling out and modernizing. |
You make a fair point overall, but I wouldn't use your bolded statements as examples of Nintendo's shortcomings. No matter how much we want a home console Pokemon and SM64 2, we shouldn't say that Nintendo is at fault for not releasing games that aren't even dismissed yet. Also, it's no question that their weakest factors are their hardware design, and marketing (including hardware naming). However, game design is what they're best at.
Although, I did want Zelda U to be the entry that made the "realistic" crowd happy so that a cel-shaded one after it wouldn't be a straight bad idea.
