Yeah. That thing isn't the recommended way to install it.
Try http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.04/ubuntu-8.04-rc-desktop-i386.iso
Burn it to a CD and then put the CD in the drive and reboot. The Ubuntu menu will come up and I think the installer allows you to select which hard-drive.
