As amazing as Portal 3 would be I don't really see how they would do it considering how well they ended Portal 2, unless they had it from a new character's perspective or something.
I think the next Valve game announced will either have to be Left 4 Dead 3 or Half Life 3, and they'll probably be shown off with the Source 2 engine as well.
They really should just get Half Life 3 out of the way though, it has to happen eventually. Kind of like whenever people would always say the same thing about Kingdom Hearts 3.
