Sony might make questionable business decisions some times (all right lots of times), but one thing they are almost guaranteed not to do is buy a studio before they know whether their magnum opus game is a success. Sony might announce an acquisition before the end of the financial year, but that will be at least a few weeks post launch and once the metascore is settled. So Sony will have the necessary information to know that buying RaD is a good idea, or not as the case may be.
