When I waited in line for the Wii... there was... well... no gamers there untill 5AM. (they went on sale at 8) (and all 8 were accounted for at about 3AM)
(well let me rephrase myself. No gamers besides me)
Let me remind you something... the shop you visited is not the center of the world. Now keep that in mind please...
