Yes, Ready at Dawn are capable of overachieving based on the budget/hardware they're given, but why would Sony choose to buy them for that when they're more looking to offload on inhouse expenditure?


They're just trimming off the fat, the excess.  Seeing as the company will revolve around the Playstation platform moving forward, it would make absolute sense for them to reallocate funds toward acquiring dev teams, investing in IPs and whatnot.  The main risk being that if you don't, someone else could.  As far as SOE goes they operated on a different level and hadn't been financially successful in years.
