I find that highly unlikely. They would've bought them by now if they wanted them.
they've been working almost exclusively for Sony for nearly 10 years. I'm assuming they have a pretty good relationship with Sony, particularly due to how long they've collaborated with SSM.
Only reason for an acquisition would be if they were planning on going somewhere else and Sony wanted to keep them on board through means they couldn't do with second-party relations. They didn't do that with Insomniac; why would they do it here.
Add in the fact that Sony shut a host of studios not long ago (Zipper Interactive; BigBig; Studio Liverpool), and I just don't seem them acquiring anyone else. They seem a lot more about second-party agreements for exclusivity these days which, in my opinion, is a much better direction.
