It’s no secret. Sony likes purchasing studios that deliver fresh ideas and different experiences, they’ve done so with studios like Sucker Punch Studios and Evolution Studios. While many people may argue that Quantic Dream is the likeliest studio to be acquired, Ready at Dawn’s next game has a more immediate impact on the company’s sales as we have yet to hear from David Cage’s new project.

If The Order 1886 pushes a number of PS4s as well as exceed 1M copies, it’s fairly safe to say we’ll be hearing about an acquisition being in the works by early late March. It would be a great investment for Sony’s first-party brigade since Ready at Dawn seem like a capable team worthy enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of Guerilla Games and Naughty Dog.

Ready at Dawn developed 3 of the most highly-rated PSP titles ever to be released and did a bang-up job on remastering God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta on PS3. The only question is whether or notThe Order 1886 has the goods to deliver. Early impressions indicate that the game is gorgeous but lacking in the gameplay department but throughout the weeks leading up to release, premature reactions to the game have not seem trust-worthy or accurate.

It’s become quite popular to bash The Order 1886 for clicks but many sites won’t admit to it. We won’t know until release if The Order 1886 is a true dud or one of the best PS4 exclusives around but we can definitely speculate about the future of Ready at Dawn as a member of the PlayStation first-party family. What do you think? Will The Order 1886 be good? And how long do you think before Sony buys the studio?
