New Metroid in 2018. Not on Wii U

they may release one in 2016, but its for sure not going to be on wii u (because nintendo always skips metroid for every 3rd console) so that means if it does come out, it has to be on 3ds

What does this even mean? We had a Metroid game on every Nintendo console except the N64 and you want to tell us that this is already some kind of pattern that we should all aknoweldge?
