Yes.

We keep getting these threads that compare the PS3/360 to PC's, and how PC's that can compete with consoles visually for around the same price (~$600).

Well, I got my 360 in 2005 for $500, and my PS3 for $600 in 2006. In those years, you would have needed to spend thousands to get something that looked as good.

Here we are two and three years later, and the cost of the consoles have only gone down a little bit. I would say it's completely worth it.

Except, the games didnt look that flash and there weren't that many to play. So not worth it.

The games looked great (PGR on the 360 was awesome for its day, still is).  As for quantity, that's a comment against any early adoption. If you bought a 1080p TV when it came out, there was nothing you could view on it. If you bought a DX10 video card when it came out, there were no games for it.

It also depends on how early you consider someone an early adopter. If it's in the first year, there were plenty of games for both the PS3 and 360 1 year into there life (and many of them looked great).
