I think that the pitchfork mentality is more of a "comments" section thing. Read any noteworthy news article or blog, and you'll see some of the worse things someone can say in the comment section along with all kinds of stuff. They aren't really set up for conversation and discussions. You post a comment then forget about it. I don't bother posting comments to articles or blogs for the most part because of that. I doubt that the writer, blogger or youtuber ever reads that stuff. |

I noticed some political sites, or things that are more personal like people suffering from diseases and telling their testimonies tend to have some good comments, especially when the article comments section is integrated with facebook.
