Sony's drop is due to the competition doing a better job. Microsoft was force to discount their hardware and Nintendo now has quite a few games worth owning a WiiU to play. Last year at this time PS4 was cheaper and superior consoles while Microsoft kept shooting themselves in the foot. This year the PS4 is slightly superior more expensive console then Xbox One. The PS4 is still the market leader but the competition is adapting and taking a slightly larger piece of the pie.
PS4 is about to get two major boost when The Order: 1886 & Bloodborne release. These two titles should Improve PS4 2015 YTY comparison.
