Judging from the performance of this generation of consoles, being an early adoptor brought unnecessary concerns. Early adoptors of the 360 were shafted when it came to reliability as well as lacking features the system later included. Early adoptors of the PS3 were shafted on lack of software and rumble. I don't include price or console for the 60GB console is hands-down the best SKU by Sony this gen and the price got you a future-proof blu-ray player and solid backwards compatibility. Early Nintendo adoptors got the shaft by...nope...Nintendo owners didn't get the shaft from pricing, library or future versions of the console including something newer models have that the original didn't. Screw you Nintendo fans! (lol, j/k, pat yourself on the back, you got a solid, reliable piece of gaming equipment) One thing is for sure, I won't be buying the next Xbox system (shafted early 360 adoptor), and I'll be cautious about Sony, but if Nintendo can one-up what they did this gen, I'll be a Nintendo man again.
