Diomedes1976 said: The shops order tons of consoles for the christmas period ...if all goes well and they sold everything they would command more in january if not there isnt so much of a problem they will sell them trough the first quarter and at least they have received some incentives as rappels for purchasing a big shipment ... seeing as there are tons of consoles on the shops we have to put us in the second scenario ...they arent purchasing any more in some time to come .
Only time will tell on that issue. All anybody can offer here is anecdotal evidence as to ever store's stock. For example, I was at a Toys R Us this last weekend and they were sold out of 360's (the only nex-gen console they had in stock was the PS3). But, again... we can't base things on our personal experience as stock may vary from chain to chain... region to region. None of us have hard numbers to back up our claim, nor would we be able to. What I do know... according to most people here.... that when the "6 million" number came out in Sept from MS, most felt 1 to 1.5 million of those were sitting on store shelves. I also know that the console was readily available at that time. My common sense and logic tells me that the stock is probably not a whole heck of a lot different today... meaning if MS says they sold 10.4 million, it's likely that over 9 million of those are in homes today. In my book, it's highly unlikely that much more of 10% of every Xbox 360 ever made is still on store shelves. Also, MS still reports that they are on track to reach approx. 15 million by the end of June 2007. So, this would leave me to believe there isn't a gigantic glut of them at stores... if that was the case, there is no way in hell they'd reach that figure. Anyhow, only time will truly tell on this issue. And as I said all along, if I was wrong, I'll gladly come back and admit it.
