That comment made my night...
OP: I'll be as non bias as I can be.
Nintendo Pros:
- + Excellent 1st party support and highest rated games.
- + Games are ready to play and complete on release date with little to no patches (Hence the Nintendo Seal of Quality)
- + IPs are all REALLY diverse from each other
- + Games are usually worth more than priced value (Taking at least 15+ hours to complete not counting any side quests).
- + Provides a free internet service with game trailers in eShop and few to non server shut downs. Connection is pretty reliable for a free service.
- + Nostalgia
- + Innovators of new things and not afraid to fail.
Nintendo Cons:
- -Innovators of new things and not afraid to fail (can also be a con. Gamepad, Mini-Discs, and Virtual boy anyone?).
- -COMPETELY OUT OF TOUCH WITH VIDEO GAMING TODAY (I personally feel they still think it's the 80's, Iwata still probably uses a brick cell phone
). - -Cockiness and complete mistreatment of 3rd parties (feeling they don't need them).
- -Weak to no 3rd Party support in their consoles (expect their Handhelds).
- -Disregards to how 3rd party games would run on their consoleS (Example of this is the GC Controller. AWESOME for Ninty games, but you ever tried playing CAPCOM VS SNK 2 on that thing? It's a effing chore! Same for their gamepad concept, they completely don't care how 3rd parties will make their games on their consoles, as long as they can make NINTY GAMES).
- - No answers to IPs that their rivals have (like Nintendo doesn't have an equivalent to COD, WRPGs etc.)
Sony Pros:
- Always have the latest technology on release date on their consoles
- Smooth, sleek, and sexy look to their consoles
- Great for 3rd Party games
- Vast Library of games
- Shop is really accessible and free online access.
- Stays in touch with what's up in gaming
- Trophies
Sony Cons:
- Can follow trends too damn much(Skullwalker brought up an interesting point here)
- Online serves are susceptible to hacker attacks and unstable. Also no trailers of games you sell on PSN?? Really?
- Sometimes having the latest technology REALLY BIT THEM IN THE ASS (PS VITA and the launch of the PS3 anyone?).
- Their main selling IPs all look the same (either 3rd person or FPS... BLAH BLAH BLAH).
- Since they can't control 3rd parties, 3rd parties can release a game thats like 70% complete and get away it.
- Shares the reputation of being a twin console (with more than enough good reasons).
Microsoft Pros:
- BEST FPS
- Xbox Live is WORTH THE DAMN $50 dollars. Blows all the other internet services out the water
- Adapts many PC gaming atributes into their Consoles
- Great for 3rd Party games
- Will admit to mistakes and fix them
- Trophies
- Vast Library of games
Microsoft Cons
- They are like a cancer to everything they buy or help out( Rareware and Sega anyone? They put Windows CE on the Dreamcast and later tried to buy Sega out). I hope this doesn't happen with Minecraft
- Really sneaky and tyrannical ways of doing business ( Knowing 30% of their X360 release stock would RROD and still release it anyway? Or having a camera and motion sensors always on in your living room? Or not being able to play used games??). o.O --- O.o
