Why should they leave the japanese market? for them its still bigger than other countries. Japan is a more important market than most other western countries for MS, a lot of games are devoloped there who are also released in the west. Its in their interest that they get released for xbox one too, thats why they want a bigger footprint over there

Seeing how abysmal sales are in Japan, even back to the 360, there is just no point in continuing to sell it in Japan. Japanese people just don't care about the Xbox brand. It's an awkward console that sits in its small section in the back and no one talks about it. Nothing is really going to change that. If they are fine with selling a little under a 1000 a week, then sure, they can keep going, but it's certainly not going to grow in sales.
