i still occasionally play D2 mods - only problem is that private severs have so few members...it just becomes discouraging.
regular D2 is fine and all, but D2 without maphack feels painful. someone at blizzard should make a D2 update that just takes a the modded apoc D2 client (improved stash size, 20 characters per account, free maphack, extra items) and just turn that into a the next patch (with permission from the modders of course, not that i think they would mind, assuming blizz would host the servers).
meh..one can hope.
also, i would pay 150 bucks for D3 if it meant no monthly cost. considering how often ive been known to return to the game...
