Pretty much hit the nail on the head.  If Sony is investing almost a billion into those sensors they must have those lucrative contracts nailed down for the foreseeable future. 

Pretty Much, the thing is out of the small number of companies that produce these type of CMOS sensors, Sony is one of the few that has the 3D Stacking TSV silicon that Takes large amounts of cash and a hell of a lot of R&D to advance...LOL
