Is that hard to do some research before making posts like this? PS4 sales are not the only thing making money for Sony. Not even close. Six out of nine Sony divisions were profitable last quarter. I know that, which is why I said gaming alone can't carry them. Right now their gaming division is the most successful, but it isn't nearly as important or profitable as some of their divisions are/should be. I was trying to make the point that people on here claiming that they are fine in this financial crisis are completely wrong. Sony needs to get their s#it together in their other divisions, because they need them to make a profit. See my above post.

What if they feel further investments into other sections may not be worth the costs to maintain, and its better to sell off assets til further reduce the operation expenses?

The point is For all we know the board and the CEO OF Sony may look at Gaming and Entertainment of the market is the real Area of Strength to grow their market share and most important profit's generated.

If anything with kaz and the board seeing as how facebook, and Google, and Microsoft are really mainly software and service oriented Companies that started out as software and than built to hardware, Sony may see it as going less hardware and more software and services are a better fit for Sony at this time, and Playstation as the vactor of attack for market growth for Sony as a company is clear from their standpoint not TV's, Not Tablets, Not PC's hell NOT smartphone's in the low to mid tier, if anything less models but higher price premium is their goal. It not about market share growth for hardware.

When it comes to other parts of the company its about growing an area where they have a realistic chance to grow market share and that is infact GAMING!

Being a mainly Game and entertainment company works for Nintendo and it can work for Sony also.
