While Sony cut's here, they increase more profit building products:

Cut 1000 jobs, while only having to increase by 30 but increase sales of units from 18,000 units / week to now over 80,000 + units/week

 

Its even a generic computing platform at that.. with production costs really low its bound to shift some good profit due to size,weight and package requirements being so cheap to produce.
