I guess it makes sense. SOE makes PC/Playstation games. All other Sony studios make Playstation-only games.
Sony wants to focus on PS4. Making SOE game PS4-only would not make sense from a financial standpoint. They would not be profitable if they dropped PC support. Sell the studio and take the money to invest in your other PS studios.
