I agree with this. I actually did a hell of a lot more grinding at the end of FF6 than I did for either FF4 or FF5. You need to level up and learn spells for 3 parties before going into Kefka's Tower. Argh.
And as others have said, I grew up with FF1 and Dragon Warrior, so I know all about endless grinding for silver swords and L4 magic in Elfland. Doesn't mean I have to like it. :)
