I have never understood the fanatism towards first party studio new IP's that seem to exist on sites like these, gamers don't care where their games come from. From a business perspective it is much better if your partners are developing the new IP's as it brings in the content without the risk, add in some investment funding and you are fostering friendly developer relations.
