You didn't address my statement about efficiency though. Just because more people see an advertisement doesn't mean that said advertisement will sell more games. It is also about how effective the advertisement would be. You kind of used PC gaming as an example, but one would argue that there are no advertisers of PC gaming, so it was an industry that would've benefitted much more from a celebrity than an industry that already had advertisement (console gaming.)

Most people don't actively choose to watch advertisements, generally they ignore them or skip through them. They watch shows, but shows serve to be advertisement for products. If peoeple are watching someones channel about a certan game and they are on the fence, that is good press. There are advertisers of PC gamers. Look up your favorite PC gamers with large followings and you'll see what I am talking about. Maximilian is becoming the biggest hype man for fighting games, to the point where Microsoft has even hired him to work on their story. Hes that much of a fan. When he hypes of games crowd of people watch if they are interested. Hype if its real on a person who has the charisma can sell it could mean possible dollars. Its not always certain, but its most definitely possible.

Nintendo is showing their age. Screwing with Youtubers is only going to piss off the younger gamers. Then again...Nintendo was never considered the "cool" console in any era, even when they ran third party in the 90's with an iron fist. This is exactly why third parties have so much animosity with Nintendo. They are a "my way or the highway" type of company.

Angry Joe's fans bought him a Wii U to do reviews and Nintendo flagged his videos almost the second he put them up. This was his response to Nintendo.

If they are watching a trailer on Nintendo's page, then they are actively choosing to watch said advertisement. And just as much as a let's play can push somebody over the fence, it can also prevent them from jumping over.  Also, can you provide specific advertisement that isn't a youtube video for PC gaming? Hence, why it benefitted so much from advertisements on youtube.

Also a review is different from a let's play. Both can advertise a game, but only one has the intent to do (or not) do so. One is much more effective in pursuading people either way than the other.
