The real reason is that Nintendo just wants people to stop watching computers (which they have no real money involved in)and actually go play their games on their consoles.

They pay millions in advertising to hype their game the way they want. I agree that let's plays vids help get exposure to a small community that are already fairly adept with games, but companies should be wary that they have no control over what cost this exposure comes at(spoilers, value, quality). The digital age is entering an interesting online monetization era and I have a feeling user created content will be the first to suffer once big business sees where the $$$ going.
