While, and I agree with you, stereotypes hold some degree of historical truth, they have no real basis on a scientific study. Black people are stereotyped by screaming "nigga" to each other, eat watermelon and rob liquor stores, but there's no scientifical reason to believe such thing.
Men, like women, deal with complex situations throughout their lives; they might have a more straightforward way of approaching certain problems than women, and biologically speaking they do not have to deal with several things that women do, but that doesn't make them simpler.
