MS knows that the most money is made from sequels like Windows 10 and Office 2016, and they translate that strategy onto the gaming side as well. As long as they earn money from.sequels and 3rd party exclusives, no need to take risks on unknown properties.
However, I do expect MS to have a lot of new IPs on the mobile side of their business.
