Yeah, I can`t really think of any first games that were the best. Seems like the first one is the test for a 2nd game.
I`d say maybe Mega Man X, but that`s a sort of sequel to Mege Man. Banjo Kazooie I think stands well as a 1st game, though Banjo Tooie is the way to make a sequel : )
