Anita thinks her views and interpretations of what a specific female character represent are absolute. Yes, you can see that there's a problem if you take video games as a whole, but ico is not what she says it is.
The Last of Us, for an example, had a male character that was driven by the death of a female character, and his main quest was to protect another. There might be something meta there that ridicules these "tropes" but the story was good, period, and it actually features the most badass and empowered female characters in their given situation.
Edit: I disgree with her ridiculous solutions and I I'm annoyed by her superstar status but completely believe that the things she put on the spotlight will change things for the better... Unless she's directly involved...
