The hardcore abandoned Nintendo; Nintendo didn't abandon the hardcore

I have a huge problem with the hardcore gamer term... I just want to play frikkin fun games. Be it gimmicky, couch play, online play solo play or what not.

To me it sounds hardcore gamer sounds nothing but elitists nonsense.
