I would contest your argument that "it all worked out." They may have permenantly lost any chance of gaming dominance, have definately lost $2-3 billion only to gain a Blu-Ray victory that by all accounts won't come clost to the dominance DVD still has. Between downloads and DVD, the question in not whether Blu-Ray will be a massive success, it's whether it will be a moderate success or not worth it. On the other hand, the gaming industry is in a general upswing compared to the movie and home video industry's that are in a general downswing. As many Sony fanboys have pointed out, what would have happened to Sony's gaming business if the PS3 had launched at $400? If they'd done that, they still would have had a better shot than Toshiba at clinching the Format War (Blu-Ray had more backers). |
I'm not going to argue about this whole Blu-Ray, Sony, and PlayStation thing, A) Because it's annoying, and B) because I could give you 1 million reasons why it was good and you can do the exact opposite...

Two cities on DLC means that anyone who bought the Arcade is royally screwed... I 'reckon' that most likely this EEC is just a few mission packs.
